From July 1, 2013 to April 1, 2016, my husband and I have been over charged just under $1000.00. In my estimation the sum is $953.76, by Altamonte Springs Water Utilities. The first high bill was $98.49 in 7/1/2013. It was almost double than what I was used to paying and every 2-3 months I would get another high bill. The high bills that I received were from $70.93 to $180.78 I would call and the company would send out someone to do a water test and no one could find any leaks. My husband and I are both over 60 and we have one bathroom and many of the high months were when we did little to no watering outside. The highest bill of $180.78, said we had used 30,000 gallons of water. There is no way we could ever come close to using that much water.
I started asking that they replace the water meter and they said they couldn't . Finally in March of this year my landlords insisted on them replacing the meter. They had to pay $80.00 to replace it. We requested that they have an outside source test it. They agreed. Two months later I get a call saying there was nothing wrong.
Since they replaced the meter we have had 6 months of bills. All except for one bill of $57.22, the other bills were all under $49.00.
The new meter is giving us the reading like the neighbors around us are getting. I feel like we were ripped off and they are covering it up. I feel like we deserve an investigation. I have all the records. I really hope you can help me with this matter.
