Found a charge for $29.95 to my checking account that I did not authorize. I found a phone number (877-781-7082) on the check image and called it. I spoke with Penny. She says that Alliance Network is a bill processing center for many companies. She told me the name of the company that charged me was Demibox LTD. and the charge appeared to be for an online subscription. She told me the transaction took place on 4/26/12 at 6:06pm from IP address 216.104.161.213. Not only is that NOT my IP address but I was at work at 6:06pm! Before I even inquired she told me I could be reimbursed if I did not authorize the payment. I have to wait 3-6 days for reimbursement. I was also given a reimbursement confirmation number!? I'm not putting any bets on seeing my $29.95 returned. I have closed the account and gotten a new one.
I also called the bank that the fake check was deposited to (Renasant Bank) and gave them the account number and what I could make of the name stamped as the depositor. I suggested they take a look at the account. They said they would have the fraud department take a look at it.
