My 86 yr. old mother received her bank statement and there was a check made out to YR Benefits in the amount of 447.35. We notified her bank and they are processing a claim for it since she has no idea who this company is. We also called the phone number on the check copied on the bank statement to find out why they took this money from her account. They said it was for medical equipment. She asked, "What medical equipment?" and they couldn't specify. The police in my town have been dealing with many fraudulent crimes like this due to cable, internet, and phone services that are bundled together. If these scammers can keep you on the phone long enough they hak into your computer using the same line and can go to your billing and baking websites to get info and routing numbers. So far the cable companies have no device to stop this problem. Beware of lengthy sales calls if you have a bundle and warn your family and friends.
