Gareth is posing as a white English man on the dating website OKCupid. He claims to work for Shell and in Nigeria for the moment working on a project there. He is very knowledgeable and knows a lot about what he is talking about. He claims to be a Christian and knows a lot about the bible. He will make lots of promises of a good life and even send you a gift or two. First he tried to get me to invest in crude oil with Shell, claiming that he has and has made much profit, even sent an application form with Shell's logo, address in Nigeria and everything, looks very legit. When he couldn't get me on that, we chatted more, now keep in mind this all took place over a course of 4 months! Then talk of a visit came into play. Claimed to put in for his vacation time and got it and starts planning what you will do when he comes for a visit, talks about what he's bringing, all this time, sending photos and posing as someone else. Then a horrible accident happens where he hits a young girl crossing the street, which I looked up on the internet and it happens all the time there, so he offers to pay for all the expenses and if he doesn't the father of the child is going to kill him. He cries on the phone, gives phone numbers of people to call and check his stories out and everything. I then fell for it, I sent him money to help pay for the little girls care. Even chatted more after sending the money. I started getting phone calls from two different people, one posing as a police man in Nigeria claiming that he has Gareth and then tells me everything was a scam, even puts Gareth on the phone and he himself tells me everything was a scam and that the officer just needs more info from me about the whole thing. Another man calls and tells me he works for the US government in NY and even has a NY number, tells me they are lying to me and blah, blah, blah. Come to find out of course, he never planned on coming to see me and all the numbers he gave were fake as well, had other people posing as his friends and family for me to talk to. He even talked to my parents on the phone!! He is very good and will go to great lengths to make you believe he is who he says he is to get your money. DON'T DO IT!! I fell for it and I'm trying to make sure that other females out there don't fall victim to this mad man.
