I received two voicemails today while I was working telling me to call the very minute I got the minute I got this call. It was a very important legal matter and if I did not call serious legal problems would befall me. The person leaving the message gave her name as Lisa and she had a distinct asian accent. When I returned the call a man named Daniel asked for my phone number to help him get my information. Daniel then told me I owed a payday loan to Cash Advance and the balance was $532.86 which included all the late fees and if I didn't pay it today a subpoena would be issued and the sheriff would be sent to my home to "collect me". I could either pay the whole balance today or, I could pay $80 or $100 dollars and he would let me know after I went and got a green dot card and read the numbers off to him when I could pay the rest of the money back to him.

I'm sharing this in the hope it will keep others from being scammed by this company. I didn't borrow any money from California Cash Advance and only listened to Daniel to see what all he had to say. At the end of the conversation I told him I would need to know when I had borrowed this money and how much I had borrowed even though I hadn't borrowed any he told me he didn't have to verify anything I just had to pay it or they would come and "collect me". I told him I guessed that is what they would have to do then.

Please let this be a warning not to be afraid of these people.
