I have been advised to write to you (National Auto Division) in regard to the car maintenance contract that was executed with my 87 year old father-in -law (now deceased) earlier last year. Although he was suffering from dementia before his death, he never could have benefitted in any way from the car maintenance contract on his new 2007 Honda Civic with less than five thousand miles on the odometer. Furthermore, his Parkinson’s disease limited his ability to drive at all. He had no claims against the policy.

Near the time of his death he unwillingly expressed interest in and was charged a single payment of $2,448.00 for the car maintenance contract through his credit card.

By way of this letter and on behalf of his daughter and my wife I am requesting that your company refund the fee. I could have been cancelled the charge in February but I was urged by an employee of yours to first review a document entitled “Peace of Mind” which I never received.

Unfortunately, days later I suffered a medical stroke and have been unable to pursue this issue until recently.

Attached is Frank’s final will which names my wife as his heir. A copy of the death certificate is also attached. The car has been sold, and a final odometer certificate is also attached.

Please refund the insurance premium to Mr. Joiner’s daughter and heir, Karen J. XXX.
