I am one of MANY people who have been repeatedly scammed by this online company. I only wish I'd read online reviews of their business practices prior to buying from them.
I paid $105.00 to www.ahuva.com on 11/24/2012 for a beautifully designed ladies prayer shawl. (tallit) I also paid $37.00 extra to get it in two days, of which I did NOT. For some reason, the item didn't ship out until the 26th. When I inquired about tracking it, I got nowhere. I finally received the item on 11/28, but it's the wrong one. Even more disturbing is that the one I received appears to be of much lesser quality, (not silk) and the material is rather rough feeling/looking like it's been mass produced someplace. The one I ordered had the Star of David on it along with some very fine stitching and different shades of lavender. The one I RECEIVED has crowns and no other specific markings. The one I ORDERED was supposed to come from ISRAEL not CANADA. Even more disturbing is that there appears to be two places of origin for this company: Ontario Canada, AND Brooklyn, NY. ????

It also stated under the item online that it was blessed by a Rabbi.

I have several emails detailing my requests to this company to no avail. I've REPEATEDLY asked them to instruct me on how to send it back to them for a full refund, yet I've heard nothing from them. Meanwhile, I am out $142.00 and a product I don't want. At this point, I'm afraid to send the one I got back to them because I've nothing in writing saying they will refund my credit card.

I was mortifed to see reviews of others who've ordered from this site as some people never received anything from Ahuva for months and even years they are still battling with them. HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN?? WHY AREN'T WEBSITES WHO DO THIS SHUT DOWN??

I have written two reviews on two separate sites stating my dilemma so other people will not be scammed as I have.

Needless to say, I am very frustrated. I don't have $142.00 to just give away and its so close to Christmas.. I doubt I'll order anything off the internet again.

Too many regrets..

(I've also called the phone number listed on their website AND packaging: 416-907-4140 leaving messages for someone to call me back. Ironically, it rings 8 or 9 times, then a generic and brief answering machine picks up. (No identifying name like, "Hello, you've reached Ahuva.Com...") It just says to leave a message. WHICH I DID.

Update: 01/24/2013

AHUVA.COM has finally refunded me the remaining $58.00 they owed me after I returned the wrong item them sent me back in December 2012. ($58.00 was refunded back to my account on January 18, 2013.)
