Received a letter from Royal Pacific Financial Services, claiming that I had been the 2nd prize winner in an international sweepstakes held 10-10-2012. I negotiable check drawn on the account of Gilead Sciences in the amount of $4685.00 was enclosed. Further this stated that the check was to help offset the processing fee of $360.00. But I was to do nothing until I contacted Sarah Meyers @ 1-604-764-5618. Certainly I felt the scam but was puzzled why a pharmaceutical company would be involved in a sweepstakes. I faxed everything to Gilead Sciences - Corporate Security in Foster City, CA their HQ.

  • This certainly appears to be a phising attempt to obtain personal information. But the involvement of a well known pharmaceutical company is even more worrisome.
