I was searching for a an apartment on craigslist.com. I came cross a listing for a town home in Baltimore, MD. I contacted the person listing the town home and he introduced himself as Samuel Johnson. I spoke with him through email and on the phone. He informed me that i could move in asap. He wanted me to send $1000.00 ($500 for security deposit and $500 for first months rent). He sent a copy of the lease agreement via email. I sent the money through Western Union. Once he received the money he stated that he had talked to his lawyer and that his lawyer suggested that he have me send an advanced 6 months rent. I told him that I could not do that because i have not received anything for the $1000 that i had already sent. I talked with him over the phone and we compromised that I would send $500 in advanced and he would send me the paperwork and the keys. I sent the money and he never sent the keys or paperwork. After a couple weeks of saying that he was sending them, he stopped replying to my emails.
