On Wednesday, I got a call from someone posing as a representative from Microsoft. He instructed me to go to my computer and turn it on and allow him to take control of it from his office. He said that a virus was detedted on my PC and he would fix it as a Microsoft courtesy. I immediately hung up the phone and contacted Microsoft and was told that this is a scam and that Microsoft never contacts individuals about detected virsus. I do not have a person name; however, the caller ID shows that this call was made from a Pennsylvania number which is 717-781-8025. I hope this will give you enough information to trace this call back to the source and put an end to this terrible scam.
