I received a call. The caller claimed that they had received numerous messages from my computer claiming errors or problems. He wanted me to confirm the "license number" of either the computer or of the installed Windows system. He even offered a very long license number for me to check. I repeatedly asked for a description of what would happen next, and what the company's economic interest was in this exercise. No answer was given. However, I was able to hold him on the phone for almost half an hour, and I succeeded at last to have him call me a couple of names that I can only refer to as "(Inappropriate Content Removed)" and "(Inappropriate Content Removed)" !!
