I received a phone call from CountryWide Periodicals a couple months ago and did sign up for it, and started to receive the magazines. However, I was told that I would receive a watch as well as magazines, but they told me that there would be no charge. I called them back a couple weeks later to see if I could cancel it, but they said that there was a 3-day cancellation period and that they would not be able to cancel it. If the magazines had a return address on it then I would return them, but there is not a return address on them.

  • You can still return them. All I do is write return to sender on them. This company is fraudulent. As consumers we have rights and they don't respect them. They scammed me They call you after they have already charged your account and try to make it seem like you signed up for it. I tried to "cancel" mine as well as soon as they said you had to but the magazines but the kept giving excuses of why they couldn't cancel my account right then. They told me they were going to send me a cancellation letter in the mail. I immediately called my bank and told them what happen and they stopped the payment and gave me a whole new account number. After that happened they sent me magazines and I sent them back. They never sent me the canceltation letter by the way and when I brought that fact up to their manager he said there is only a 3-day cancellation period but then why would you say you're going to send the letter? How come you can't cancel over the phone? A latter takes more than 3 days to arrive to you so by time you get it the cancellation period is over. They are constantly harrasing me through threatening phone calls and mail the next time they call I'm going to tell them that I am going to get the law involved because what they do is illegal.
