On 3/21/13 Marv took possession of my vehicle. We spoke later that day and he told me that the the part needed to be ordered and it would cost $260.00 including shipping. The part that was in need of replacement was a small portion but, the entire assembly had to be ordered because they wouldn't sell just the one piece. He then told me that my car wouldn't be ready until the following Monday or Tuesday. I called at 8am Monday and Marv said my car was ready to go and the total was $485.00. When I arrived at 2:30pm, Marv told me that there were additional problems. I was frustrated and said that I would just pay for what I owed and take my car and figure the rest out later. At that time, Marv put his hands in the air and walked away refusing to take my credit card for payment. At no point did Marv provide me with any paperwork for the repairs or for the work he claimed needed to be done according to some "computer diagnostics" recommendation. I took my car to another auto repair shop on 3/27/13 because the car was accelerating on its own. I was notified by the mechanic that it was a sensor and that the the repairs that the previous mechanic did not replace any parts. He sprayed a silicone spray to seal the valve. My cost of repairs for the original issue from the second shop (Michel Bros.AWESOME!!)is $182.00. The actual part needed CAN be ordered on its own. More than $300.00 less than Marv's Auto that tried to rip me off BIG TIME! This crook needs to be exposed. I am a single female with no mechanical knowledge. Not only did he try to charge me for work and parts not done or replaced, he also tried to entrap me into leaving my vehicle for additional repairs. I feel that he should have to reimburse me for the 4 days I was unnecessarily stranded without a vehicle during my work hours and had to take taxis to and from work.
