I saw an ad for a house for rent on craiglist. When I called the number listed for more details, a man immediately started giving me his pitch. Renting a foreclosed or preforclosed home sounded like a smart idea and even though I could tell he was trying to get me to sign up for a $199 subscription in a sly way, I went along with it. Later to find out RENTING A FORCLOSED HOME IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE. Not to mention when I cross-checked the listings with county records, there were still people living in these places with no interest in renting. Oof what a scam, but seeing that other people fell for it to makes me feel a bit better.
