My mother (76 years old, not very computer savy) was apparantly directed to this company from either Century Link or AOL, I'm not really sure who made the suggestion.

After she called and they began the diagnosis, she was told she was unprotected which was a complete lie because I purchase her Norton subscription every year. It was installed and some how became "uninstalled." I also remove unwanted files, toolbars, etc.

Below is a direct qoute from a team manager:

These are the notes from her ticket. The technician did not list all malware that was removed, but it looks like it was most likely malicious toolbars and adware/spyware that can get on a computer by clicking on things on the internet and are typically not stopped by antivirus programs. If she would like to keep Norton antivirus we would be happy to reinstall it, otherwise, we have installed Tend Micro Titanium for her.

She was charged $189.97 to remove items that I remove myself everytime I'm home. This is the one time she didn't want to call me at work so she trusted the advice of a professional tech company and was completely mislead.
