I got connected via phone to MyTechHelp.com when my iphone lost its contact list. I thought I was dealing with Apple support. I was told to connect my iphone to my computer and to give them remote access to my computer. I watched on the screen as they quickly manipulated through various screens. I couldn't really follow what what happening. Well, when he finished, he asked me to check my iphone to see if the contacts were back, and they were. He asked me to check to see if all my photos were there, and they seemed to be as well. When I reviewed a credit card bill on May 13, I saw a $69.99 charge to Tec*MYHELP with a 877-6076108 Fl phone number which I called because I had no idea what this was for. I was told this was "set up" when I called for help. I told her I had no idea how this came about. She seemed to read detailed notes about what had happened, and that "I was in a hurry" while this help assistance was going on. I asked if there were going to be further charges and she said yes, there would be a monthy recurring charge of $17.99/month from my card! I told her to cancel immediately and to refund my $69. She said she could cancel the $69 and then recharge my card for $99 which would give me a full year of their support, a 'special' offered just that day. That it would be wise for me to do since my iphone or even my computer could need their help in the year ahead. I told her no several times as she continued to persist. She finally gave me a cancellation confirmation number. I was shocked that I had not been dealing with Apple in the first place, and that this company charged me the way that they did.I took my bill to the local Apple Store and they said they had never heard of MyHelpTech and that they were not affiliated with Apple. What a scam. I will be curious if they charge my account again.
