I made final payment and requested disconnection of Verizon Wireless broadband service for my HP Netbook on 1/22/13 after my service was abruptly disconnected for non-payment one week before the bill was due on 1/21/13. I was a loyal customer with no billing issues until a payment made during the holiday season was lost. I presumed it was delayed in the mail and that was the reason the December bill was in excess of monthly charges. Noone called or emailed me in advance of the service interruption and I found out about it when I took the computer in believing it to be malfunctioning.
Despite the documented request for disconnection of service I continued to receive monthly billings and spoke with a Verizon representative in March who admitted the error in billing occurred because a transfer to the department in charge of service disconnections had not been made at the end of the phone conversation. She reassured me she would take care of the matter.
I continued to receive monthly billings and yesterday, after 8 attempts to connect, finally spoke with a Verizon representative named Zack who said they billings occurred because the request for disconnect had not been processed in March and that he had proof I had used the service. This is fraud because I uninstalled the VZ Access Manager on 1/28/13 and could not use Verizon Broadband. I also discovered I have free broadband services as part of my XFinity home service. I asked to speak with Zack's supervisorr and was connected with great difficulty to Kevin #326234. He refused to settle the matter and also said there was documentation I had used the service but could not tell me when. This is fraud, harassment, unfair business practices and unethical billing practices and I want it to stop!
