On April 29, 2010 I called XM Radio on the phone and purchased a lifetime service plan for $468. I asked if the service was transferable and was informed that it was transferable for a $15 fee unless the radio was defective or the car or radio was stolen. The radio has broken and when I called XM radio today, (5-27-2013) the service person said it can be transferred for a $75 fee, I asked for a supervisor and the supervisor said that it is not transferable at all. They claim there is language in the terms of service that state the service cannot be changed. As mentioned at the beginning of this complaint, I purchased the service over the phone and was never afforded the opportunity to see written terms of service and took the sales person at their word that I could indeed transfer, either at a $15 cost or free if there was a problem with the radio. The supervisor I spoke with this evening, Mikkela, contradicted even what the first person had told me on the phone. XM Radio has misrepresented what I honestly believed I was paying for when purchasing the lifetime activation plan. All I am seeking is to have the service that I paid for transferred to an operating radio. Thank you
