The young man said if I didn't want the magazines, they would be sent to the troops--"most everyone was doing that." He was probably 19 or 20, said he had done one tour in Aghanastan already and now was going back to school.
I don't want magazines, and I never buy anything door-to-door, but he was so excited about winning the trip to Italy--I fell for it.
I just received a follow-up letter postmarked 5/23 Phoenix offering me a special offer, because "due to some unforeseen issues, my "magazine order was returned and they were unable to fulfill it." I could choose any 3 others free of charge. Of course, I realized it was a scam almost immediately after the original contact.
