I received a call from someone with an Indian accent who was talking to someone in the background with the same type of accent. The person knew I had signed up about 9 months ago. Before the person was able to say much, I said, I am waiting for a call from Social Security Disability, and had to go. I received a call 10 minutes later from some number 253-271-4534, same accent, "I am calling from Social Security Disability, and I need your bank routing #, and acct # so we can send you your Soc Sec benefits of $2000/mo." I told him I didn't have my checkbook with me, and he said, "Then we have to cancel your benefits". I hadn't even had the initial call to start the process. Obviously, the scam artist didn't understand the process, and was unlikely from the US. The only way he could have gotten my phone # was to get it from the defunct company. So it appears that ex-employees got access to my phone number from 9 months earlier. DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION FROM TEXTS OR PHONE CALLS.
