I (and 3 other persons that I know of) received calls on 9/23 stating a restraning order was being file against a person we know. Called back 617-600-4177 and gave them the case # they had left on their recording. Was told I cosigned a loan for $631 and some cents for this person and was going to be taken to court for $4,000 unless I gave them a credit card or debit card number to pay it off. I told them I didn't recall cosigning a loan and would them fax or send me documentation. They told me they didn't have time for that and needed my card info immediately to stop the court proceeding. When I wouldn't give up the card info they told me to hold and actuallu hung up on me. I received the same call on 9/27. Called them again and they knew I had called previously and asked if I was reday to give my card info. I asked why they were calling me again when they had told me previously it had to be paid immediating to stop the court proceesing they hung up on me. Definitely a scam. I looked the TN up and it is a VOIP land line out of Watertown, MA.
