Hello everyone.

So, this's my story.

I and my friends are going to travel to USA, NYC after our exams in universities in 2014 (01/27-02/10).

So, we bought everything and that last point was accommodation.

Hotels are expensive, hostels are not so good... And were looking for temporary apartment.

Via craiglist.org we found such provider "CITY BASE FLATS" (contact person Tom James, "landlord" - Hellence Theophile, landlord's address: 55 BALHAM HILL, LONDON, SW12 9DR, UNITED KINGDOM. Address in USA: 600 W Ford St, Bridgeport, TX, 76426).

So, there was an apartment which costs 385USD/per week. Location is 140 Riverside Boulevard New York, NY 10069.

I'm idiot, I know. How apartment on Manhattan can cost so?

Ok, after 1 week of negotiations, I decided to pay deposit for this flat (total: 970 USD (770$ + 200$ security deposit)) in amount 500 USD.

I send my cheque, signed agreement, etc.

They received my money. So, I asked them to issue an invoice for me, they told me to wait 1-2 days.

After 1-2 days I'm receiving the following message:

"Hi (Personal Information Removed),

Thanks for your reply and concern, We want you to send the £290 via
money gram to this same information: Because we need issue the full
invoice and all the information you need to pick up the keys including
the information of the person that we pick you up from the airport.

Name: Hellence Theophile
Address: 55 BALHAM HILL, LONDON, SW12 9DR, UNITED KINGDOM.

Get back to us with the receipt of the money gram .

So... And I was shocked, (Inappropriate Content Removed). I sent already everything according to agreement.
So they made ultimatum - I should pay full invoice or they will cancel my booking. I told them that I need some time.
So after 1 day I wrote them that I want to reimburse my deposit, according to agreement I can do it:

"CANCELLATION: Should you wish to cancel this reservation, notice of cancellation MUST BE IN
WRITING AND RECEIVED MORE THAN 30 DAYS PRIOR TO YOUR CHECK IN DATE. We will refund
the sums you have paid, less a $100 cancellation fee."

After I wrote that I want to reimburse my money, they replied me the following: "You have to send the balance to us tomorrow as you promise."
There was an conversation with context "(Inappropriate Content Removed) DUDES"!!!
They wrote the last: "Sorry that is not possible. You better send the balance tomorrow and the full invoice. "

Book everything only via official websites and where You can see all complaints and all information... Don't be a fool, like me.
