I received numerous phone calls from eTeacher inviting me to sign up for a Greek course. I was definitely NOT ready to commit to a course. The guy on the phone finally said, "Look, I'm going to put you down for a TRIAL course, where you can drop out after two classes if you don't want to continue." That sounded like a reasonable solution. Usually TRIAL means you can back out without losing money. So I was willing to register for $149. When the email arrived in a day or two giving me registration details, I realised the $149 USD was NON REFUNDABLE. IMMEDIATELY I replied to ask for a refund. Nope. Too late. Once they've got your credit card details and a verbal agreement over the phone, you lose $149.
