Signed up for a free trial sample of a face cream from RTVL UK site. They required a small payment of £2.99 for postage. No email confirmation was sent for the payment and no further info was supplied. 1 week later a sample pot arrived, the product was not very good so I decided not to go to the site to make an order. 5 weeks later I received another pot of cream. I immediately checked my account which had two amounts of money taken from it one for £89 and another for £95, I contacted my bank to stop payments, I then checked the RTVL site where I found a small link at the very bottom of the page to their terms and conditions, scanning through this I found a section that stated that if you didn't cancel the trial order within 14 days you would be legally bound into a contract to pay for cream each month. The only way to cancel this is by phoning them, the line is always out of service, or emailing them, they don't reply.

According to trading standards in the UK, if you have paid them money by credit card you should be able to get a charge back, as they send no written confirmation of the contract or the terms and conditions, having them on the website isn't good enough. Normally you would have seven days to cancel upon receipt of any terms and conditions, if they don't send them you have an additional 30 days on top of that.

This company is just one of many rip off merchants on the web who use , shoddy, underhand and low tactics to part you from your money.
