I applied for a loan with Aflec Solutions Inc. on Oct. 15, 2013. I was approved and sent back the paperwork. However, over the next two and a half weeks, they kept increasing the amount of my security deposit, which eventually totalled $8500, about $1000 of that being 'loan insurance'. When I sent the final amount required on Nov. 1, I was assured that the funds would be released with no problem. However, no loan amount has ever been received by me. I have tried contacting them, but they do not answer my phone calls or return my messages or e-mails. I have repeatedly asked for my collateral deposit to be returned, but they do not respond in any way. As a result, I am now in a dire financial situation. I have been in contact with local police and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police regarding this matter. All of the funds, except for $1000, were sent by e-mail money transfer in the amounts of $2500 each time. I was told by someone at the head office of my bank that these funds could be at least traced to the bank where they were deposited. The company's website says it is based in California, but the police have traced it to Oregon and the domain name seems to have Providence, Utah as the registrant address. I simply would like to have my $8500 returned to me so that I can get on with my life.
