They started the conversation about a competition I had entered through a student website email to win an iPad. They said I had been picked to be entered into the draw. They then went on to talk about a Euromillions lottery ticket deal where you just have to pay 5p per ticket. They said they needed to confirm a had a English bank account so asked for my sort code and account number to check this but told me they weren't setting up a DD. After they told me all the info I said I wasn't sure about it as it sounded like a scam and didn't want to get involved. The man then turned extremely nasty, accused me of wasting is time and told me that he wouldn't stop the DD (the very one that he claimed he wasn't setting up). I couldn't get anything more out of the conversation except him telling me what he thought of me. I have since contacted my bank and waiting to see if a direct debit does get set up so I can cancel it straight away. He said this would be February but since he lied from the start who knows what date. Absolutely furious. They prey on the "young and innocent". Terrible behaviour.
