I switched to Starion and was told that the generation charge was at .06 per KWH and should not go higher then 10 or 12 at the highest. immediately after I switched, in November the rates started going up.. it went to .10 in December then almost doubled in January when of course we all need more power. By the time I saw the bill, it was too late, I had to pay another month at an even higher rate. I called them and was told that there was nothing they could do, I was told that the rate was variable when I signed up and they apologized.
This was a calculated business plan, they knew that they could get two or three months of billings at the enormous rates since it takes time to change suppliers and many customers don't take a close look at their bill.
Bottom line STAY AWAY FROM CLARION
