I was on the internet looking for a software to help me recover lost files. I found one called Stellar Phoenix which seemed to find some files that I was looking for but I had to purchase the software in order to retrieve them completely. I purchased it for $51.94 but it also required me to call this number 866-682-0647 for immediate activation. So I called the number and the guy on the phone said that before I can use the software, he has to check if my computer is sufficient enough for the software to work properly. It wasn't convincing at first, but he wasn't going to activate the software I just bought unless he was remotely signed in. So, went ahead and let him get in my computer, he pointed out some errors on my computer and tried to sell me in getting it cleaned up for over $400. I said that's too much money, and he tried convincing me that others will charge double that for the same work. He kept lowering the price and said it's a one time deal since I really need it. I said forget it and just activate my software. He said okay, I'll offer a one time fix for that day only for $129.95 (the other options were for me to get help over a period of months). At the end I said fine because I knew my computer was slow and there was something wrong with it.
Turns out after almost 4 hours of "fixing" my computer while having remote access, my computer is the same. I'm pretty sure my computer is a gateway for hackers to get in and do whatever they want. Solidtech is definitely a scam. I knew there was something strange about how persistent the man was on the phone and how kept lowering the price when I kept declining. Don't trust them. I now have to hire a real tech to fix the more issues I have now than before Solidtech was remoted in.
