My mother had surgery on 06/30/2014. She was hospitalized for twelve days due to negligence by hospital staff. She was very ill but she started retaining water to the extreme. Every time my daughters or I would mention this the nurses or aids would just not answer. I ended up calling her cardiologist because I was concerned she my end up in congestive heart failure. The cardiologist on call saw her and called me to report the IV was in her tissue and not in her vein. It caused her to gain 33 pounds of fluid and set her recovery back so far we are still dealing with this.
