Started off with a text to the number given on craigslist - 931-325-7928 - which reads back to Mt. Pleasant / Brentwood, TN. Was asked to email her at the listed email in this complaint.

Hello,
My name is Sheila Oakford, and I'm emailing you about,2006.Volkswagen Jetta with an gasoline engine, automatic transmission and only 99k miles. Never had or need any paint/body work done, garaged keep always, without any mechanical problems, tires and wheels are in great shape as well, electric is working perfectly. The engine 2.5L , runs very good and the automatic transmission shifts perfectly. Has a clean and clear title in my name and there are no liens or loans on it. This car was used by my husband who died 3 months ago. The price was reduced at $1500 because I'm in a hurry to find a buyer. I need to sell the car before the 25th of this month, when I will be leaving on military duty with my medical team out of the country for a year and do not want to store it. Hate to sell it but its not worth keeping insurance and paying storage fees for a year. Also, the car is not what my son wants so there's no use on keeping it. First off, many sympathies for your recent loss. We are very interested in the car, but at the moment we are still waiting to hear back on insurance following up on my husband's accident this past Saturday. Hopefully we will hear something soon and be able to move forward as we certainly understand the time constraints involving military duties. He would love to see more photos of the vehicle when you've the time to send some.

That is perfectly fine. My husband is in the National Guard and we get military training and being pulled away for such. I just wanted to let you know we are looking into getting the financing together and should have a definite answer for you no later than Saturday.




The vehicle is already at our Military Logistic Department from Fort Belvoir, Virginia U.S. Army base crated and ready to go. The Logistic Department will deliver the vehicle to your home so the shipping is free for you. Since the vehicle is in a military base, with no access you can not go there and take it, only the Logistic Department can deliver it, because the vehicle is in their custody. Shipping may take anywhere between 2 to 3 business days depending on the destination. All the documents you need for ownership; title, manuals and the bill of sale, etc.. will be provided along with the vehicle ( title and the bill of sale will be notarized by a notary public ).If interested please include in your next email your contact info for eBay (full name, shipping address and phone number), so we can get the ball rolling.

Can you tell me which branch? My husband is military as well and is hoping to reach out to the Commanding Officer there to see if he can't make some other arrangements such as a test drive there on base - his commanding officer from here in Lobelville is looking to reach out on his behalf.




I have yet to receive a response, but this is more than just a scam, it's a case of Stolen Valor.
