I was contacted to work from home for Goldman Sachs company. I went through an interview, filled out a hiring form. They contacted my references. They informed me I got the job and that there were certain software I needed to have to complete my job. They would be sending me a check, I would deposit it into my account then I would send the money to the vendor they do business with. I received the check on Friday, Nov 4th & deposited it into our account. The check was available on Tuesday, Nov 8th. I received directions to western union the money to the vendor contact, that information was emailed to me. If I was able to get the money sent that Tuesday I would have the software that week so I could start my new position next Monday. I sent the western union to the contact that Tuesday afternoon. I was informed on Thursday by the back that the check had bounced. I tried contacting the 2 people I have been in contact with, they said they would need to check with the accounting department and I have never heard anything back. I tried to cancel the western union payments but they were already picked up. I contacted the fraud department of western union and filed a police report with my local police department on Monday, Nov14th. They informed me that there wasn't anything they were able to do.

  • I received an email to go through the same process ysterday. I set up a yahoo messaging account to chat with a cindyjones567. The day before I had actually applied for a data entry job with a local company on snagajob.com & thought maybe it was them & after a few questions to see if they wanted to call me in for a face to face interview. However after she told me the name of the company she was with I knew I hadn't applied with that company (Goldman Sachs). While I chatted with her I googled goldman sachs work from home scams & found these posts as well as lots of others which saved me from doing anything she was instructing me to do. I completed the "interview" then called her out on her little scam. Of course she got angry & said I didn't know what I was talking about even though Dateline NBC did a story on this & was one of the things I found when I googled it. I know you fell for it which is easy to do especially when you're genuinely needing a job. But know that atleast you saved one person from being scammed b8 if I hadn't seen your post I could have fallen for it myself. I wish there was a way to stop them but I know they're basically untraceable. So thank you for posting this & saving me from the scam!!
