I signed up for monitoring of my security alarm 2years ago. In Sept 2011,City of Mesa informed me that this alarm company does NOT have business license. I informed David Stone,MyAlarmMonitoring.com via email that I needed his business license # to secure an alarm permit. He informed me that he did not have one and was aware that one was needed &that he was not going to purchase one. He stated in his email that "Because of regulations in Arizona we have not monitored any homes in Phoenix proper." He KNOWINGLY did business without a business license. He wrote me on 9/15/11 that he would have to cancel my service & "I am going to send you a refund for 3 months of monitoring as a thank you for your business," which would amount to $38.85 refund. On 10/4/11 I emailed him again since I had not received the refund. On 10/6/11 he emailed me that he would "check with my billing department on the status of your 3 month refund check." No reply so I called David Stone (425-761-2585) on 11/3/11 & also Ben Sharpe/Billing Dept. They did not return my calls. I got Stone off the hook for a $500 fine from the City of Mesa. As a senior citizen, I am living on small fixed income. I cannot afford to pay $38/mo. somewhere else so I have to do without monitoring, which is a health risk for me. I'm beginning to wonder if I ever even had alarm monitoring & he just charged my credit card every month. Earlier this year, my Visa expiration date changed & I wasn't charged for 3 months. I emailed the exp.date & he said I would have to call it in. 3 mos. of nonpayment & this was ignored? I asked him to bring it up to date, which he did immediately. If he wasn't monitoring payments, why should I think he was monitoring my alarm? His company offers a money-back guarantee. Perhaps I should ask for two years of payments back unless he can prove he monitored my alarm? Web site is closed, probably due to legal or financial problems.
I would like hard proof that they monitored my home for the past two years, and providing my payment record isn't proof. That would just be proof that I paid for service. I also want the $38.85 that was promised to me. I also think this business should be investigated as they are apparently operating nationwide without required business licenses. Their customers, many of them senior citizens, suffer the consequences of going without monitoring services because this company conned them by acting like a legitimate business. Perhaps they aren't paying taxes either? In order to do business in my city, they would have had to pass a background check. Probably couldn't pass one. This company should be put out of business if they can't afford to purchase required business licenses or permits.

Update: 09/15/2013

This company has paid me a settlement. This company went out of business. Case closed.
