I received a fax at my place of employment (The Gary Human Relations Commission) advertising vacation travel packages and a cruise. I called my sister and asked her what she thought about it because the cruise was advertised as an 8 day and 7 night Carribean cruise for $249.00, and airfare was included with the price. Yes, it was too good to be true. My sister had gone on cruises before and I felt that she would know or be able to determined if this was something that we should invest in as we both wanted to take a cruise next year. We called but didn't do anything the first call. We called back and gave our information with my sister giving them her bank information for the money as they indicated that we would have to pay $500 up front to receive the rest of the information (travel dates, air fare info; and travel destination). They sent us the package to complete for our travel destination choices, and we completed them and were waiting on them to contact us so that we could pay the rest of the money. This is when we discovered that something was wrong. Our attempt to contact them on December 28, 2011, resulted in us reaching a website that didn't go through, being directed to another number answered by a voice message that told us the message box was full and then asked if we were still there and hung up on us. We began looking for the company on the internet and found that we weren't the only ones who had been scammed by this company. We filed a complaint with the Federal Communication Commission yesterday but don't know what good that will do. My sister is closing that bank account and trying now to see if this company has taken any other monies out of her bank account. I surely hope that we're able to get our money back because I didn't have money to just give away like that.
