On January 3, 2012 my boyfriend visited the site uspassportnow.com. The site leads you to believe that you can easily obtain your passport right from the site. My boyfriend was filling out the required information when the site took him to another page to fill out more information. The second page was for the actual passport information and the first page we realized was only for the website. My boyfriend stopped filling out the second page to check his bank account and see if he had already been charged, and he had. He was charged $129. We were under the impression that he wasn't being charged until after he completed the passport information. The site charged him a $30 shipping fee, a $50 processing fee and a $49 new passport-expedited service fee. He went through the proper measures to cancel the request and we found out the $50 processing fee is non-refundable, which we understand. But where are these other charges even coming from? I read online of other complaints about this website being a scam and it sure is! It needs to be shut down and taken off the internet for it's false advertising.
