I found this site offering a $2.95 car history report, so I thought great, for 3 bucks I see what they have. Well I did get a report on the car but it was such a lame report that I bit the bullet and paid the $30 bucks for a real CarFax report.
Now after the holiday I'm reviewing my credit card statement and what do you know, not only is the $2.95 charge from there, but here is two more charges of $29.95 on 11/23/2011 two days after the $2.95 charge and now one more $29.95 charge on 12/26 from these bastards.
This is a total scam, as I look pretty closely at these internet offers before giving them my CC# and I didn't see any agreement to get signed up for some kind of lame subscription.
Anyway I have been trying to contact them to get a refund and get them to stop billing me and I cannot get through. Every time I call I get disconnected or get a message saying that my call cannot be completed at this time. 888-613-1485 CARREPORT is description on the statement. I have notified my credit card company of the fraud, and will keep trying to get ahold of CarVINHistory idiots.

They do have the subscription information on the billing page (in small print) but it is cleverly disguised as "Secure Order Form" information. It should say "Subscription Information" or "Trial Order Information". This is purposely layed out this way to scam the user into thinking they are just paying $2.95 for one history report.
Oh, and even if you do see it, good luck getting through to them on the phone to cancel, plus they will bill $29.95 even before the three days is up. -
