I was told one thing by a salesman, then the second salesman came in with contract and hurriedly got me to sign and initial papers ,which after I had the opportunity to look over did not agree with what the first salesman had said. He did not explain anything to me and I was not able to read all the contact until later. I was given 5 days to send a certified letter to cancel the agreement. It was Christmas week, so I was unable to reply within the 5 days with the post office closed. Although I did make several telephoine calls to their closed office, they now say it must be postmarked with 5 days. This was impossible. I was told they would sell my timeshare for $7000. in no more than 6 months. I find out now there is no guarantee they will sell it for $7000 or that it will be sold within 6 months, and I will have to continue to make maintenance fee payments until it is sold. They ask for a deposit of $1185.
and that $7110 would be due in 6 months when the timeshare was sold for $7000. They said I would get a check for 2140 each month for the first 5 years, if I did not use the new timeshare they were selling. The mainteance fee for the new timeshare would be $300 each year and I said I could not pay both the $629 and the $300, and I was told in 6 months I would no longer have to pay the $629 as it would be sold for $7000.. He did not say that was an asking price, or that I would not get the full $7000 in 6 months, but that I would. But, that is not what the agreement says. I guess I shoud have seen this scam happening, but I didn't. The salesman gained my trust, then the next one scammed me. This is surely bait and switch. I am 73 years old on a small fixed income, and they are willing to do this to me. Shame on them. Whatever happened to honesty.
