Just got a bill from my credit card with 3 charges: $1.25, then two days later $49.97. Having not used my card in over 7 years, I immediately called my card's Customer Service to report fraudulent charges. They advised me of yet another $49.97 charge posted exactly one month later. Finding them to be fraudulent internet charges, I immediately closed the account.
I thought it may be from someone walking by and scanning my wallet as my card has the "Blink" service on it where you don't have to swipe the card, you can just be close to a scanner and it registers (If you have this type of card, get a wallet or purse designed to prevent this from happening to you).
Afterwards, I tried to researching the company and found this site with multiple complaints. After reading other posts, I think the charges may be from an adult website I visited requiring age verification via credit card. It said FREE -No Charge will appear on your account. Being very skeptical, I made sure to read every word of their "Terms" which repeatedly stated their would be no charge to my account, making these still fraudulent charges.
I have always told myself not to do that and hesitated for quite a while before trying it. Now I KNOW I'm right- don't ever put your card info online for anything unless you know the company you are dealing with and it is on a secure page (https). Also don't ever believe "FREE- NO CHARGE..."
