I received a postcard in the mail advertising Internet and phone service for $30 per month. I made three different calls and was told at least once that no other obligations were required. I scheduled the install. The technicians, after installing the product, told me I needed to call customer service, at which time I was told I was required to subscribe to cable service in order to get the price. I reread the fine print on the advertisement, and nothing is mentioned about subscribing to cable being a condition. I spoke with a CSR and her supervisor. Both told me I needed cable. However, I had been told by another CSR the week before that this was not the case. I have the postcard if you wish to examine it. I feel like this is false advertising at best, possibly bait and switch (since I wasn't informed about the cable rule until the equipment was installed), or possibly fraud.
