I received a letter and a check for $5,000 claiming that I won 1.5 million dollars and to call a British Columbia number to claim the prize. I called Reader's Digest headquarters and they informed me that the letter was a scam and to disregard it and tear up the check. I did not loose any money because I looked up the area code first then I called the RD headquarters to verify. Thank God for Internet.
