I purchased an auto repair policy from stoprepairbills.com in September 2011. I was informed the company that would be covering my auto repairs would be Ameican Auto Shield (AAS). On January 10, 2012, I called AAS to ask if I had met the time requirement to file a claim, they said yes! Unfortunately, they started a claim that date. I was not able to find any auto mechanic or dealer that would accept AAS warranty. Apparently, several mechanics knew of their policies for refusal to pay for repairs. ON 1/23/12, I was able to find a mechanic that would accept the warranty. At first the mechanic contacted me and informed me the claim had been denied, claiming the repair was now 10 days old and and considered a previous existing condition. I explained to AAS the problem of finding a mechanic that was willing to accept their warranty. After arguing for hours, I was then informed by AAS and they informed me while I had waited the mandatory 30 days, I had not reached the 1000 miles as stated in the policy! I spoke to several supervisors and on 1/24/12. I was then told by AAS I actually reached the 1000 miles on 1/23/12 the date of the repair, and because I was not "OVER" 1000 miles, my warranty would not be honored. Again, I argued and disputed the mileage. On 1/24/12 I was told to "fax" in all of my previous auto repairs? AAS refused togive me a reason as to why this information was needed. On 1/25/12, I spoke to a supervisor name Brad R., who informed me, AAS had "recalculated" my actual mileage and I was now 500 feet about a half a mile short of 1000 miles! and again, they would not pay for the repair of my Air Conditioner. Later during the phone call, another supervisor who refused to give me his name, then claimed my car miles had been calculated wrong and I was now 40 miles short of 1000 miles! This company has done nothing but continued to think of reasons to NOT pay for my car repairs! I continue to get the run around and different reasons as to why my policy which is paid up to date will not be honored. I need assistance in getting my vehicle repaired! I am a disabled veteran who depends on my car for medical treatments and appointments.
