This is a familiar complaint. Our business was being called incessantly last year for listing in "public" Yellow Pages. One day, when I (only authorized person for business charges) was not in the office, the "company" called and spoke to an employee, assuring her that I had previously authorized charges for a yellow page listing. They coerced her into what appears to be an authorization for charges, although I question the integrity of the tape. They played "tape" for me because I refused their "offer" for a new listing. I was told this week that my account was overdue (I was never sent an invoice) and that the business account was being referred to a third party collection agency and our credit would be ruined. I spoke with representatives at the FCC and the FTC today. They said it was a scam and they gave me a reference # to check on my credit information. Nothing negative so far. All the research I have done indicates that this is a total scam. Representative I spoke with today was ...Paul Andrews...He said address was 450 Lexington Ave. in NY, NY. I can list his # if needed. Not a nice individual to put it mildly AND something he said made me think, although he spoke english, that he was not from the US.
