Complaint 67115 Details

I received a call from Consumer Credit Group, LLC , 2300 Tall Pines Dr., Ste #125, Largo, FL, 33771; 877-506-4908, on Friday, April 29, 2011 from a man by the name of Keith Marini (or something that sounded like that). His hard sale convinced me that his company would be able to lower my payments and interest to 6% or less. He also said, that I would receive a full refund if they did not come through with their promise. He made a verbal guarantee. I gave the information he needed from a credit card to be charged $795 fee for their services. Before hanging up, Mr. Marini also said that if I changed my mind and did not return the paperwork, I would receive a full refund. He said, "if you don't return the forms we can't lower your interest rates, and therefore, have not completed our promise to you." Well, I did change my mind. When the packet arrived in the mail with the forms I was to fill out and return, I did not return them. I actually believed I would receive a refund. I also believed the refund would be automatic, if they hadn't received the paperwork in a given amount of time. When I called today, Jan 31, 2012, to ask for a refund on the $795 they charged to my credit card, the representative I talked to said it wasn't their policy to refund fees. She said that I never returned any of their calls. Well, it was probably because they didn't leave any messages (and if it was a 800, 866, or 877 number, I wasn't about to answer another call to get talked into another scam). I told her what Mr. Marini told me in April, and I asked to speak to him; the representative said that she does not know who he is and has never heard the name before. She also kept talking without letting me get a word in edgewise, even when I said, "excuse me, can I say something", she did not stop. I eventually just hung up on her. Consumer Credit Group, LLC is supposed to be in business to help people get out of debt and what they are doing is a total scam and putting people deeper in debt. This company is an insured corporation and needs to be responsible for their actions, or lack of.
