Answered a phone call from a telemarketer re accomadation vouchers. Firstly they stated they would send Australian consumer law agreement. The envelope arrived, but had nothing inside, I emailed the company and they basically called me a liar, no replacement agreement was sent, hence I had no cooling off period. Tried to contact Hotel bargains via phone, but the line was continually engaged. Booked accomadation via their website, the accomadation booked through them was a total of $833.00, if booked directly with hotel the total price was $770.00. Finally got through to Hotel Bargains and asked a very rude operator why the price difference, and what the vouchers were for!! she hung up in my ear. This is the most dishonest and misleading scam and people should be warned. You get basically nothing for your money, only 2 for 1 food vouchers.

  • I received my membership info 10 days after purchase. So, I didn’t have any chance to check their deals. When I checked Hotelbargain deals, I really surprised as their deals are all more expensive than any other deals. So, I was really confused why I need Hotelbargain vouchers. It would be much cheaper if I purchased it from other booking websites (hotel.com, booking.com) or even from the hotel itself!!! I was still within my 10 business day cooling off period. I called them and asked for cancellation. But the customer service was really rude and never try to resolve my problem and told me NOT 10 business days and my claim is not correct (No help at all!!!) . I am going to call Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) on 1300 302 502 and Customer affair Queensland to open this case for further investigation. Please do so if you are in same situation

  • We had same situation as well. Hotel Bargains Queensland marketing team misled us and gave us info which was not correct at all. They normally send you info after cooling-off period so you don’t have time to check. So be aware !!! If you have already did and not happy, Report it to the ACCC Infocentre on 1300 302 502 or visit the report a scam page on SCAMwatch
