I responded to an email for a work at home opportunity from the Global Rice Science project on December 13, 2011. I was supposed to do research and process payments. On December 15,2011, I received 2 postal money orders for $965.00 each from a Debra Mock, 1014 County Rd. NW, Huntsville, AL 35801. An e-mail from Dr. Seth Green, [email protected] instructed me to deposit this to my account, then make a wire transfer to Joy Hoover 102 Musket Dr., King, NC 27021. On December 19, 2011, I received 4 postal money orders for $965.00 each, again from Debra Mock. This time my e-mail instructions were to make the wire tranfer to Joy King, this time the address was 2098 Musket Dr., King, NC 27021. On December 21, 2011 I received a call from my bank informing me that the first 2 money orders had been returned as counterfeit. I also received more postal money orders from Debra Mock, but refused to process them and e-mailed Dr. Seth Green telling him I needed to be repaid for the counterfeits, that my bank is holding me accountable for. I filed a report with the local Conway , Arkansas police dept. and was told there was nothing they could do. I filed a sheriff's report and was told there was probably nothing they could do. I filed an online FBI report, and have heard nothing back. I have filed a report with The Arkansas State Attourny's Office and was told that there was little they could do, and that I could file a report with the United States Postal Service and Western Union. I've been to disgusted with the lack of help to file the last two reports.
