I purchased an economy return fare to Accra in Ghana to visit a close friend & his family...Three days before I was due to fly Simon from Virgin Customer Service phoned me to ask if I wanted an upgrade tp Premium economy for £270, so I decided to upgrade. The following day a received a phone call from my friend informing me that his mother had died from a heart attack, so he suggested I defer my flight...I immediatley contact VIRGIN ATLANTIC who advised me that the best way to receive a refund on both the flight & the upgrade would be a "No Show" i.e. Not to appear at the airport for which they would charge me £140, but I would be able to use the flight & upgrade again on another flight......I did pit this is writing to VIRGIN ATLANTIC & wrote on several occassions to chase for confirmation which I never received. VIRGIN ATLANTIC'S COMMUNICATION ON THIS MATTER WAS APPALLING....

I subsequently booked a flight in January this year to St Lucia & wanted to use my cancelled flight less the £140 rebooking charge...I was then told that I would only receive the partial refund for the economy flight & not the Premium upgrade...I challenger VIRGIN ATLANTIC ON THIS MATTER & sent them all the correspondence with names, dates & times of the 12 people I discussed the matter with & how I was promised th refund for another flight...

I have still not heard bacj fromm VIRGIN ATLANTIC, they are clearly ignoring me, yet I am a frequent flying club member with them & have VIRGIN credit cards & services with VIRGIN....

I am still wating form a response since January of this year & have not received my refund as promised...?
