Went on site to check on a car and purchased the report for $2.95 but the information offered was minimal. You had the option to purchase a more detailed report for $29.95, which I did not purchase. On March 6th, this site automatically charged my account the $29.95, without authorization. The telephone number listed for this site is a non working number. It is constantly busy regardless of the time you call. Then again, on March 19th, a pending charge for an additional $29.95, has posted to my account. I called my bank and disputed the March 6th amount and it will be reinstated in one business day, back to my account. However, the recurring charge which has not yet posted and is pending for $29.95 on March 19th, I will have to wait for it to post and dispute it again. Then, I have to cancel my card and request a new card in order to avoid this recurring charge because there is no valid telephone number to call to have them stop this. There is no actual website for carvinchecks.com to try to find the physical address, telephone number, etc., what comes up is a "GoDaddy.com" website with no actual information. This is a total scam and rip off site that tricks the consumer into obtaining your credit card number and provides you with no valid information, only in their efforts to get your data to continue stealing from your account. If you are not prudent enough to check your account, this can lead to a very large sum. Actual theft as no authorization is ever given them. However, once they have your card number and details, they are able to provide your bank with what looks like a legitimate charge. There should be a way to stop this scam as it appears all over the web when you try to search these people out. You must cancel your card and request a new one if you want to resolve this proliferation. Be sure to check and double check a website before giving your information. Word to the wise.
