I answered the door to a young 19-20 year old male who said that he was going door to door selling magazines as a method of improving his public speaking and that he was doing it to win a contest that would send him to London. I asked him if he was in school and he told me he was enrolled in online classes which raised a flag because a kid his age not enrolled in a four year university living in this area usually goes to community college. He told me that I was purchasing a 2 year subscription that would support four injured troops at Bethesda Naval Medical Center, forwarded through Walter Reed Medical Center. The correspondence that this "company" supplied him with was some of the most unprofessional and cheap looking "proof" I have ever seen second only to kids that used to try and sell me candy in the metro stations. I think this is a shame that this company is using the troops as a method of extracting money for a service I have no idea will be fulfilled or not.
