I received a call from Lucy with Public Yellow Pages who said our company owed a pastdue bill of $599.99. She replayed a recording of a person in our office "supposedly" authorizing this bill. As I listened to the recording it was clear their company was NOT clear with our employee what they were saying yes to. That conversation took place in November of 2011 and since then we had not received any invoices or follow up calls until 3/13/12. (Also on my phone it showed the call as Restricted, no number popped up). I made it clear to Lucy that we did not owe them money and their efforts with our employee were very deceptive. I did not ask them to forward a copy of the invoice to me as I did not want to give the impression we would entertain or consider the idea of reviewing it. After the call ended, I documented this conversation and did some research. As suspected, this is a SCAM. However, a week later, I received an invoice from them. At that point I called the Federal Trade Commission and reported it. The gal I spoke with confirmed that this is a SCAM and I am to ignore future invoices, phone calls, etc. and not to contact them. For your reference, just google Public Yellow Pages (FTC) and you'll see the filing against them. PS: PYP does have a website, email, phone numbers, etc...BUT...no where on their "supposed" directory was our information. Their invoice looks legit but it's not. Probably your best bet, if this happens to you, is to report, report, report it to the FTC, they'll provide you with a reference number and affirm with you over the phone that it's a SCAM. More importantly, it's in their files. Good luck. Lisa
