Complaint 97686 Details

Received a letter today, the same as stated in another complaint, in a Costco Wholesale envelope, no return address, but with Canada Post Paid 1056417 permit, and a check for $3980.00, from Prize and Award Presentation Economical Investment Group, in the UK. The check is drawn on Great Lakes Bottled Water Company, Acct #2428024778, Chemical Bank, Evart Office, MI, no phone number, but they do have a website (http://www.greatlakesbottlewater.com/index-2.html). The letter states that they have repeatedly been trying to contact us (?) (you don't give your name when you buy a lottery ticket--lists the ticket number and the winning numbers) about winnings of a lottery ticket dated FEBUBRARY 5th, 2012, (misspelled) wanting us to keep the information CONFIDENTIAL, and to send $1995.00 US Dollars as a payment for taxes. Contact is Michael DUNDAS (the tax agent to whom the tax money is to be paid), 1-289-892-0011 (a cell phone in Ontario, Canada). I will not contact this person. I know that if anyone sends the $1995.00 to pay taxes for the $150,000.00 winnings, you will never see the winnings. Best friend says this is a scam.
Do NOT under any circumstances call this person (could identify you by caller ID) nor send this money. They will also get information about your bank account and could make you a victim for identity theft.
