I tried to purchase an Android tablet from this "company". I got the $99.00 package of bids, lost the bid for the tablet, but was (supposedly) able to purchase the tablet for an additional $10.99 by applying that initial $99 investment against the purchase price. Great! Another Christmas gift off my list and on its way! 12-20-11...recieved confirmation email that my tablet had been shipped. 1-19-2012... No tablet. Still. This is after we had played email volley and been told it was late because of the "amazing increase in volume of customers. We're so sorry; have some free bid vouchers on us." although I had repeatedly told them I did not want any bid vouchers. Ever again.
So, around 1-19-12 I emailed customer support. This time I hear: "Oh, so sorry. We don't know what has happened. Will ship another to you immediately. We'll even pay for expidited shipping. Have some bid vouchers on us!" And sure enough, I recieved a confirmation email with a tracking number. Or so I thought...
Turns out, the tracking number, or site it went through, was jacked up. It just ran me around in circles. I emailed customer service, including in the text, words such as fraud, Better Business Bureau, investigate, and so on. Suddenly, this is all the fault of the wholesaler they used (according to deal fun, of course) and they were going to provide me a refund and, gosh darn it, credit my account for the full number of bid vouchers!
Instead they took the money and ran. I did not use that particular credit card for any other transactions, luckily. It's all very easy to follow financially, but I refused to pay the bill. Now, the interest and late fees have piled up and I am waiting for the credit card company to investigate the transaction after I contested the charge. Also, I did keep all of the emails between myself and this site.
It took me a long time to trust making purchases over the Internet. After this, I doubt I will shop online for a long time, if ever!
